Fayetteville Public Library is partnering with CARE Community Center to host free tax preparation on Fridays and Saturdays during this tax filing season. This program is a Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program from the IRS.
CARE Community Center provides free income tax preparation to eligible taxpayers. Taxpayers must have a gross income of $68,000 or less to be eligible for tax preparation services. Their certified volunteers complete hours of training to ensure taxpayers receive quality tax preparation service, an accurate tax return to be filed on time, and to ensure all appropriate tax credits are utilized.
Sessions are by appointment only. Please wear a face covering when you interact with our volunteers, and maintain a distance of six feet.
To further limit exposure, CARE Community Center offers a new Mobile App option available on their website. This app allows for tax preparation without coming to one of our locations.
Beginning February 4, appointments at the Fayetteville Public Library will be on Fridays and Saturdays from 9:30 a.m.-3:00 p.m. Please call 479.246.0104 or visit www.carecc.org to make an appointment, see all Tax Center days and locations, and find additional information. Informational tax packets must be completed before your scheduled appointment. Packets are available on the CARE Community Center website or at the library help desks.
