Creative Baking: Pie

With Visiting Artist Amanda Arafat

Join us for a three-part series on pie with Visiting Artist Amanda Arafat! 

Class 1: All About Crust

After learning about the structure, rules and practical guidelines for pie crust, participants will make Classic All-Butter Pie Crust. 

Class 2: Fillings and Flavors

Participants will learn the main types of base pie fillings and flavor possibilities, then make their own personalized pie filling.

Class 3: Assembly, Baking and Presentation

In the final class in this series, participants will put it all together by assembling and baking their personal pie creations. 

Amanda Arafat is a Palestinian-American recipe-developer, chef, cottage baker and organizer. As owner and baker of Amanda Makes she serves her seasonal baked goods and beverages to customers all around Northwest Arkansas. And as co-founder of Big Gay Market, she has found purpose in creating opportunity for economic advancement and support-building within the local LGBTQ+ community. Amanda loves living in Fayetteville, and does so happily with her partner, Heath, and their cats Nate, Veronica, and Miso.
